How to book

Passport route · assistance may be needed
Channel

Use the official Dujiangyan ticket channel and select the exact Dujiangyan Scenic Area product; Qingcheng Mountain is a separate product.

When to book

The cited official ticket page does not publish a fixed advance window; use the live date inventory.

Booking steps

  1. 1

Open the official Dujiangyan ticket page and choose 都江堰景区 rather than Qingcheng Mountain.

  2. 2

Select the visit date, admission ticket and any separate sightseeing or shuttle item.

  3. 3

If passport entry is not available in the online form, use the official staffed ticket channel with the original passport.

  4. 4

Save the ticket and the exact visitor-centre or gate information.

What to bring

The official ticket route does not fully expose the foreign-passport process; carry the original passport and confirm at the staffed channel.

If booking does not work

If the selected product is unavailable, ask the official ticket desk about the next available date; do not replace it with a Qingcheng Mountain ticket.

Imported official reservation note

Real-name booking: after a successful booking, scan your ID to enter—one document, one person. Online channels: the '青城山都江堰' and '悦游都江堰' WeChat accounts, or OTAs like Meituan/Ctrip; offline: on-site ticket windows and QR purchases can sell same-day tickets. Foreign visitors choose passport or alien residence permit when buying and enter via the manual lane, or handle it at the on-site window with their document. On holidays, book 3–7 days ahead.

How to visit

Start

Dujiangyan Scenic Area main gate (Gongyuan Road, toward the Lidui Park entrance; navigate 'Dujiangyan Scenic Area'; address: Gongyuan Road, Dujiangyan City). You can also walk from Lidui Park Station (high-speed/express rail).

Finish

Leave Dujiangyan Scenic Area through the exit nearest the next street or temple district, not necessarily the gate you entered; check the return advice: Take an intercity train to Lidui Park or Dujiangyan, then continue by local transit or licensed taxi.

  1. 1
    Stop 1Lidui Park

Garden area at the scenic entrance, home to Fulong Temple—allow 20–30 minutes.

  2. 2
    Stop 2Fulong Temple

See the Li Bing father-and-son statues and the Baopingkou water-diversion explanation—a core sight.

  3. 3
    Stop 3Baopingkou (Bottle-Neck Outlet)

The water intake channel cut through the mountain by Li Bing, facing Lidui.

  4. 4
    Stop 4Feisha Weir

The flood-discharge and sand-drainage weir—walk the embankment to watch the Min River split.

  5. 5
    Stop 5Yuzui (Fish-Mouth) Dividing Dike

The core of Dujiangyan—the starting point of the Min's four-six water split; a must-see.

  6. 6
    Stop 6Anlan Suspension Bridge

The famous suspension bridge spanning the inner and outer rivers; cross it toward the Erwang Temple.

  7. 7
    Stop 7Erwang Temple

Temple honoring Li Bing and his son, built into the mountainside with panoramic views.

Best time

Enter as early as possible after the weekday opening (8:00–9:30) to avoid tour-group peaks; in summer (Mar–Dec) the latest-entry window is more relaxed but same-day tickets stop at 17:30.

Imported official opening note

1 Jan–28 Feb: 8:00–17:00 (same-day tickets stop at 17:00); 1 Mar–31 Dec: 8:00–18:00 (same-day sales stop 17:30). Open year-round; the official estimate for a visit is about 3 hours.

Foreigner notes

Passports and documents

Supported. The official purchase notice states: foreign visitors buy with a passport or alien residence permit and enter via the manual check lane, or handle it at the on-site ticket window with the relevant document. Foreign full-time undergraduates-and-below get half price with a valid document. HK/Macau/Taiwan visitors buy with their permit numbers and use the manual lane.

Chinese phone number and booking account

Online tickets (WeChat/OTA) usually need a mainland China phone number to register; the official page doesn't give a specific workaround, but confirms the on-site window can process with ID—use it as the manual backup.

Payment methods

Online via WeChat Pay; on-site windows accept cash (the official tip notes offline processing). International-card coverage is unconfirmed.

Language and on-site communication

The Dujiangyan tourism portal (djy517.com) is a Chinese-only site with no complete English version; English signage and tours at the scenic area aren't confirmed on this verification.

Save the named gate

For Dujiangyan Scenic Area, save 都江堰景区 and 公园路 in the map app; a broad venue pin may stop short of the visitor gate.

!

Avoid these mistakes

1

Buying a Qingcheng Mountain ticket as a Dujiangyan ticket, or the wrong scenic product. Confirm the product name is 'Dujiangyan Scenic Area' when buying; Qingcheng Mountain is a separate area with its own fare.

2

No tickets on site during holidays. Book 3–7 days ahead via the 'Qingchengshan Dujiangyan'/'Yueyou Dujiangyan' WeChat accounts or Meituan/Ctrip.

3

Forgetting the document used to book, so ID swiping fails. Carry the original document filled in at booking; foreign visitors use the manual lane and keep their passport on them.

4

The Anlan suspension bridge is crowded and sways, queues build at peaks, and those with mobility issues find crossing hard. Avoid peak times (arrive early or after 15:00), grip the railings, mind the wide gaps between the deck planks, and watch your feet.

5

In winter (Jan–Feb) ticket sales stop at 17:00, so late-afternoon arrivals can't buy. In winter arrive at least 2–3 hours early; buying online in advance is unaffected by the sales cut-off.

6

Refunds get auto-voided after the deadline. Unused tickets must be cancelled on the 'Yueyou Dujiangyan' account by 23:59 the day after the visit-date deadline; offline refunds go through 028-96526 within 30 days of the visit date.

Items to reconfirm
  • The official page doesn't spell out an alternative online-purchase process for foreign tourists without a mainland China phone number (it only confirms on-site ticket windows work). — Call 028-96526, or use the on-site ticket window.
  • Whether international cards work at the scenic-area windows is unconfirmed. — Ask at the on-site ticket window or prepare cash.
  • Official prices for internal transport (shuttles/sightseeing carts) aren't listed on the verified page. — Check on site or on the official WeChat account for internal transport info.

Venue-specific official pages are used where available. City-level official references provide context and are not booking confirmation; editorial and community sources are used only for route choices, pacing and first-hand experience.
