How to book
Use the Panda Base official WeChat account or mini program; if a Chinese mobile number prevents online purchase, use the official cash-and-cards service window when tickets remain.
The official ticket page says tickets can be reserved up to 14 days ahead; sales stop when the daily quota sells out.
Booking steps

Open the official Panda Base ticket route and choose the Chengdu Research Base, date and morning or afternoon slot.

Enter each visitor's real-name document details exactly as shown on the passport.

If online purchase fails because of a Chinese mobile-number issue, ask the official cash-and-cards service window about remaining tickets.

All visitors must real-name book online—one person, one ticket, one document, with each document number buying 1 ticket. Tickets open 14 days ahead in morning (entry 08:00–12:00) and afternoon (entry 12:00–16:30 or 17:00) slots; enter in your slot. Channels: the official WeChat account/mini-program '成都大熊猫繁育研究基地', or authorized platforms (Meituan, Ctrip, Douyin, Tongcheng, Chengdu scenic-area direct buses, Chengdu sightseeing buses). The day's quota sells out as it goes.

How to visit
Recommended entry via the west gate (the south gate has heavy visitor flow and long queues, and holiday roads around it impose reserved access; the west gate has no self-drive parking, so take public transport). Official notices explicitly recommend public transport to the west gate to cut entry queues.
Finish with the red-panda or education areas if energy remains, then return by the park shuttle or confirmed exit instead of walking the whole park back.

Best time
Enter as early as possible after the weekday opening (7:30–9:00) when pandas are actively feeding; afternoons they mostly sleep. Avoid weekends and holidays—after 9 a.m. on holidays, hot spots like the panda nursery queue badly.
