The official publishes no fixed advance-booking window. Tickets are single-use—re-entering after passing the exit requires a new ticket (official FAQ).

How to visit
Diaoyucheng Scenic Area visitor centre (Banbian Street visitor centre, Yucun Village, Diaoyucheng Avenue, Hechuan District, Chongqing); navigate directly to 'Diaoyucheng Scenic Area Visitor Centre'. There's also a Qisheng Gate service-point entrance (bus 929), and the Shiguanmen checkpoint is the hiking-line ticket point.
Leave Diaoyu Fortress through the exit nearest the next street or temple district, not necessarily the gate you entered; check the return advice: Take intercity rail or road transport to Hechuan, then transfer by taxi or local bus to the visitor center.

Avoid these mistakes
Some areas closed for drought-repair works from August 2026, possibly reducing the open scope. Check the official bulletin page (https://www.hcdyc.cn/dyc/jqzx/jqgg/index_1.html) or call 023-42718788 before travelling to confirm which areas are open.
Tickets are single-use; leaving the checkpoint means re-buying to re-enter. Tour all areas before exiting; annual-card holders can re-enter.
No driving inside the scenic area; private cars park in outside lots. Use the Banbian Street visitor-centre lot (about 292 spaces); in peak season there are temporary lots at West Town complex/Diaoyucheng Avenue, and farther lots have free shuttles.
Online ticket pages need WeChat scanning, which foreign tourists may not complete. Buy at the visitor-centre manual window/information desk instead; tel. 023-42718788.
Bus 929 runs limited services, so missing the return is inconvenient. Reserve return time, or take a taxi/ride-hail back to Hechuan city; from Hechuan high-speed station take G001 or a taxi.
Summer is scorching and the site is outdoor mountain terrain with limited shade. Go early and leave early with plenty of water; some areas close during heat notices—guard against heatstroke.
