How to book

Passport route · assistance may be needed
Channel

Treat the public historic district, Grand Bazaar buildings, mosques, shows and merchants as separate access contexts unless an official notice bundles them.

When to book

No official lead-time rule was confirmed for the district in the checked government page.

Booking steps

  1. 1

Name the exact building, mosque, show or public street area you plan to visit.

  2. 2

Follow the selected venue's official notice and check whether it has a separate ticket or reservation.

  3. 3

Carry the original passport if staff request registration; the official page does not confirm passport support.

What to bring

No unified district credential or passport workflow is confirmed.

If booking does not work

If worship or a performance temporarily limits access, follow that venue's official notice and keep the public-area plan separate.

1–2 hours (excluding shows).

How to visit

Finish

Leave Erdaoqiao Historic District from the side closest to the next stop, then follow the transport note: Use metro or a licensed taxi and save the exact Chinese entrance. Walking the same lane back is usually the slow option.

Foreigner notes

Map the arrival point

Use the full Chinese name and address for Erdaoqiao Historic District, then check the final walk from the drop-off point to the gate.

Passport and phone rules vary

The government source describes a district rather than a single ticketed attraction, so the booking conclusion is unconfirmed.

Crowd patterns are starting points

The quiet window listed for Erdaoqiao Historic District can shift with events and weather. Recheck the official notice before committing the route.

Treat hours as a starting point

Normal opening profile: Public reference: 09:30-22:00. The public bazaar district has no unified gate; towers, markets and performances can differ.

Keep the arrival point handy

Save 二道桥大巴扎 and 天池路127号(二道桥地铁站A西北口旁) before leaving; the last walk is easier when the gate is already marked.

!

Avoid these mistakes

1

Treating Erdaoqiao Bazaar and the International Grand Bazaar as one entrance. They're two adjacent markets: Erdaoqiao Bazaar (3A) is at the northwest corner of Jiefang South Road and Tianchi Road; the International Grand Bazaar (4A) is at No.510 Jiefang South Road. Take the metro to Erdaoqiao Station Exit A and walk.

2

Buying show/experience tickets as admission. The market itself is free; shows, the 'Sky Realm' and others are separate paid experiences—buy as needed and don't be misled by platform packages.

3

Shop quotes vary and haggling ranges widely. For big items (jade, carpets), compare three shops, make the unit clear (e.g. per gram/per piece) and ask for a receipt.

4

Carrying too little cash—some small shops take mobile payment only. Keep a little cash while ensuring Alipay/WeChat work; confirm payment method before large purchases.

5

Etiquette and access limits at religious sites like mosques. Stay quiet and dress modestly; prayer times may restrict visitor entry—follow on-site notices.

6

Night return transport. End your visit around 22:00; plan around metro last trains and taxi queues; taxis are hard right after show ends.
