Qinghe Railway Station
Qinghe is a northern rail hub for Badaling Great Wall, Zhangjiakou, Datong and suburban services. Line 13 and the Changping Line connect directly, making rail the simplest approach; the main challenge is distinguishing railway departures from metro circulation inside the integrated hub.

Book Great Wall and holiday services early
Preparation steps
- 1
Verify every passport in 12306.
- 2
Confirm the departure station is Qinghe / 清河.
- 3
Save the train number and destination because several northern services share the hub.
The original passport used for the booking; keep the train number, departure time and carriage details available offline.
If the passport does not scan, use a staffed verification lane or ask the railway service desk rather than repeatedly trying an ID-card gate.
Departure walkthrough
Use Line 13 or the Changping Line and follow railway-departure signs; road passengers should use the signed west-square entrance.
Board the exact high-speed, suburban or long-distance service shown on the ticket.
- 1Step 1Follow railway, not metro, signs
Inside the integrated hub, look for 铁路出发 / Railway Departures before choosing a corridor.
- 2Step 2Use the passport entrance
Present the original passport at a staffed lane and screen all bags.
- 3Step 3Check train number and destination
Badaling, Zhangjiakou and Datong services do not use one interchangeable ticket.
- 4Step 4Wait for the correct gate
Keep the passport ready and watch the live board for boarding status.
- 5Step 5Board the assigned carriage
Use platform carriage markers and do not board a similarly timed northern train.
For a Great Wall day trip, missing the booked outbound train can disrupt the whole route, so use a full buffer.
Arriving and getting onward
Subway
Follow the integrated transfer route to Line 13 or the Changping Line.
- Best for
- Most city connections
- Watch for
- Check line direction carefully because both routes serve northern districts.
Official taxi
Go up to the west square, follow ground markings and continue to the taxi dispatch entrance.
- Best for
- Luggage and destinations away from the metro
- Watch for
- The taxi queue is not immediately beside the railway exit.
E-hailing
Follow e-hailing floor markings to the north underground parking lot.
- Best for
- A pre-booked vehicle with confirmed parking details
- Watch for
- Share the parking location before leaving the station concourse.
Foreigner notes
A Beijing metro code does not replace the booked railway ticket and passport required for the Badaling high-speed service.
Keep the return train number and departure station offline so mountain connectivity does not control the plan.
Foreign passports may require human verification at entry and boarding.
Avoid these mistakes
